COMPREHENSIVE EXPLORATION OF OD FROM A BROAD RANGE OF VIEWPOINTS,
By Yvette Borcia and Gerry Stern "Stern's Manage... (Culver City, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Handbook of Organization Development (Hardcover)
A terrific, comprehensive introduction and exploration of organization development (OD). Presents 35 contributions by leading scholars and practitioners, organized into four major sections. Part one offers a sweeping overview of the field, offering contemporary and historical perspectives. Part two focuses on the OD process including diagnosis, action research, interviewing, groups as agents of change, and assessing OD and change interventions. The third part covers four types of OD interventions: human process, techno-structural, human resource, and strategic interventions. The last part covers seven special applications of OD and an essay by the editor, "Reflections on the Field and Beyond: An Interview With Warren Bennis." The book is an exceptionally high-quality contribution to the OD field. Very highly recommended.
