This review is from: Handbook of Radiation Oncology: Basic Principles and Clinical Protocols (Paperback)
Comprehensive in a small package. Up to date and easy to read. Probably the most well-balanced "handbook" out there.
Hansen's handbook to me is oriented specifically for the radiation oncologist. This book serves better as a reference and quick learning tool for the rest of the staff: nurse, therapist, dosimetrist, medical physicist. I liken this book to big purple book, Washington and Leaver, but this handbook has a more consistent writing style that reads better. What I really like specifically are the portals and management flow diagrams. They are really handy in a jiff. I also appreciate the that I can read it on my commute and you can get it for a very good price ~25 shipped if you shop around.

Diease-site based review of clinical radiation oncology. A nice mix of general topic overviews including historical perspective along with more recent findings. Great reference for radiation oncology residents and physicians in practice studying for the MOC exams.

This review is from: Handbook of Radiation Oncology: Basic Principles and Clinical Protocols (Paperback)
Review imbeds concise and relevant studies within text, instead of listing studies in haphazard manner, allowing for great 'readability'. If the authors updated this quarterly, I would pay for it as an app or web site. Beats any of the other handbooks handsdown!
