Excellent Information Security Reference,

This review is from: Handbook of Research on Social and Organizational Liabilities in Information Security (Handbook of Research On...) (Hardcover)
This is a great book for anyone working or involved in the information security area. I got this book from the local library to look through a couple of chapters needed for my research, but ended up reading most of the chapters. The best thing about this book is its breadth of coverage on topics ranging from organizational responsibilities, security awareness and training, HCI issues and more. I have been working in Information Security area for more than 17 years now and chapters in this book only added to my knowledge of topics in the area. Each chapter has great background coverage that helped me understand some the chapters in the book that are overly academic for my taste. The favorite chapters for me are the ones on phishing, CAPTCHAs and social engineering. I recommend this book to anyone in security or audit area to get an extensive coverage of the topics in Information Security. I would give it five starts if it were not so highly priced.

This review is from: Handbook of Research on Social and Organizational Liabilities in Information Security (Handbook of Research On...) (Hardcover)
I only read about half of the chapters on the topics that I was interested in and I found them very well written. Mostly, the chapters are written by leading researchers in area of the chapter, which lends much weight to the relevance and credibility. The breadth and depth of coverage fits a wide range of audience. I work in information security and found the concepts and details very very helpful and ones I could relate to in my work. The appendix is very helpful in finding the information you need to look at. Editors have done a commendable job in selecting topics and authors for the chapters from all over the world. Overall a great reference book, but like other reviewer I share the sentiment that it a bit pricey.
