Excellent resource but it is a bit out of date.,

This review is from: Handbook of Stainless Steels (Hardcover)
For its time (the mid 70's) this was the best resource for information about stainless steels. It covers all varieties with chapters written by experts in each area. The chapters discuss the properties, corrosion, manufacture and use of these different types of SS. Special chapters also cover welding, casting and forming. This is a very comprehensive book, but it is over 30 years old, so much of the data that is presented is out of date. In its day it was the best resource for a comprehensive review of stainless steels, and was a resource that I used for many years, but given that it is now 30 years old, I can currently only give it 4 stars.
The Amazon listing is incorrect; the editors of this book are Donald Peckner and I.M. Bernstein, not just Peckner. (I made sure that I was not confusing my copy with another, similar, book by comparing the ISBN numbers of my book and that listed by Amazon.)
