The data is especially helpful in many environmental applications - adsorption to remove VOCs (volatile organic compounds) from air, determining levels of concentration in air and emissions from chemical spills, ascertaining refrigeration temperatures required to condense pollutants and ascertaining emissions from leaks. The series covers major gases and liquids encountered in the petroleum refining and chemical industries, including: hydrocarbons (alkanes, olefins, acetylenes, cycloalkanes); oxygenates (alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, acids, ethers, glycols, anhydrides); halogenates (chlorinated, brominated, fluorinated and iodinated compounds); nitrogenates (nitriles, amines, cyanates, amides); sulfur compounds (mercaptans, sulfides, sulfates); silicon compounds (silanes, chlorosilanes); and many other chemicals. The data is presented in graphs to enable the engineer to quickly determine values at desired temperatures. Vapour pressure graphs are arranged by carbon number and chemical formula to enable engineers to quickly and easily determine values at desired temperatures of interest. Most graphs cover the full liquid range from melting point to boiling point to critical point. English units are used for vapour pressure. For metric and SI values, each graph displays a conversion factor for quick calculation of the corresponding SI units from graphical value.
