Book Description

June 3, 2008 0781781353 978-0781781350 Fifth

Completely revised by a team of new authors with expertise in endovascular procedures, this handbook is a quick reference for the effective treatment of patients with common arterial and venous diseases. In concise outline format, the book covers all major vascular disorders, including peripheral vascular diseases, and emphasizes patient management issues rather than step-by-step surgical procedures.

This Fifth Edition covers common endovascular procedures and their preoperative and postoperative management issues. A major section provides disease-specific care outlines for various vascular disease categories, with references to the contemporary literature. From diagnosis to follow-up, each chapter includes indications for therapy, periprocedural management, and valuable tips on avoiding and managing potential complications.

excellent concise resource for residents rotating to vascular rotations and anyone interested in pursuing a career in vascular surgery. Covers all the basics of pathophysiology, diagnosis and management. This edition also has stuff on endovascular and newer perioperative betablocker and statin and the cardiac clearance guidelines. Excellent!

5.0 out of 5 stars Indispensible resource for students and residents, February 1, 2012

This review is from: Handbook of Patient Care in Vascular Diseases (Lippincott Williams & Wilkins Handbook Series) (Paperback)
Concise, but very complete for a manual of this size. Relatively recent references. Covers important aspects of documentation, diagnosis with a concise introduction to the vascular lab as well. The disease specific chapters are straightforward in the presentation of basic anatomic review, history and physical findings, diagnostic evaluation and treatment options. This is a great resource for students, residents and fellows and a good review for practicing vascular surgeons and other vascular specialists as well.
