This new book, "The Handbook for Women Drivers," by George W. Mann is a bit of a surprise! First, I thought it was a joke. You know, a long "Women Driver" joke. But, I was wrong. It was absolute serious, although Mann's language is friendly in tone and non-mechanical in content. This one is worth investigating.

I give this book a big PLUS sign. It is an excellent gift for a man to his mate, but he should read it first before giving it to her. He may learn quite a bit. -- William McKay, "Council Lore," November 1997

About the Author

George W. Mann has been around cars all his life. His father was a chauffer for one of the richest families in the world, and George's dad cared for some of the most expensive automobiles ever made.

As George grew up, his fascination with cars has grown. He has read literally thousands of books and periodicals about cars, and is an "unofficial" historian for Formula One and NASCAR racing.

George is an automotive "consultant" who has provided valued information on car purchases to his clients. He was also retained by a major international insurance company to advise workers at their new data center how to purchase the right car for themselves, and how to get optimal value.

George wrote "The Handbook for Women Drivers" because many of his clients are women, and these were the most common questions asked. These points are also the most easily misunderstood.
