5.0 out of 5 stars When ever you need math its just a Call away!, December 14, 2003

Math on Call is a great handbook for students or even adults having trouble in specific areas of Mathematics. The book is split up into sections, subsections, and types of the shown subsection. Rather than looking all over the place, you can find something simply by looking for what section it is in then looking in that section to find the subsection and so on. The best part is that the book does not put in a bunch of confusing mathematics terms but instead gives clear and fast examples. It also shows more than one method of solving the type of problem so you can find what method is best for you. This book is worth every penny and is vital to success in mathematics. Take it from me, I struggled in math until I found this.

I purchased this book to assist my 8th grader. My mother is a retired math teacher that has every book ever published. She has Bachelors and a Master degree in Mathematics and swears that everyone should have this book on their shelf. It is easy to read and covers every intricate detail of the most difficult concepts. It is a book for the modest and the master.

We found this book two years ago when my daughter was eight and it has become indispensible! From homework help to double-checking formulas to pleasure reading for math enrichment, this book is one of the best. We have more than 20 math books and this is the one we reach for most often!

My son has always struggled with math. In elementary school, I was always able to help him by using his textbook for a reference. But he is in 6th grade this year and his middle school does not use textbooks. My son was failing when I found this wonderful book online. Since I started using this book to help my son with his homework, his test grades have improved tremendously. The book is very easy to follow and explains all types of math - from basic to algebra. I highly recommend this book to any parent whose child struggles with math. I wish I had known about it years ago.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great reference for older folks who forgot a lot of basic math, January 25, 2009
I am a bit ashamed to admit it, but this book is great for those who want to refresh their math foundation. There are examples with common day things to help jog your memory of basic math long since forgotten. Easy to read and easy to comprehend. Thanks to the authors of this book, I've been looking for something exactly like this for a while now. Now if they would only put out something that takes you all the way up to calculus.

5.0 out of 5 stars Whole class reference, April 7, 2007
I used this book as a reference in my 6th grade classroom. Math is the one subject that is very difficult in which to get kids to fend for themselves. Reading, writing, science, history all have reference books to go look things up in. Math on Call IS that reference. It is organized logically, well written in plain language, and highlights vocabulary, has pictures, charts, tables that are clear and well defined. My students got to where they went there before they came to me for help. They began to show each other where the answers to questions were. It was wonderful!!!

This book was recommended to us by our daughters third grade teacher. Our daughter was having some difficulty with her math and i gotta tell you that this is the best book i have ever found for the type of math she was having trouble with. It is very easy to understand. Not that i want to confess this here but i had a lot of trouble with math in high school and this book has answered some of the questions i had been struggling with then. Any book that helps us help our children is one we will always recommend.
