Book Description

Moon Handbooks February 1, 2006
The Ocean State, whether you experience it from the shores of Little Compton or Newport, the isolation of Block Island, the bays of Bristol, or the urban landscapes of Providence, packs a tremendous amount of variety into a tiny area. It's a remarkably well-preserved, highly sophisticated, colonial seaport community with some of the best maritime art galleries, beaches, and sailing on the Eastern Seaboard. Expert author Andrew Collins helps you have a truly personal experience. Suggested travel strategies and lists of must-see sights provide you with real insight so that you can decide where to go, stay, and eat—without hassles or regrets. Suggested travel strategies include: The Best of Rhode Island, Eating Your Way Through the Ocean State, Sampling the Great Outdoors, A Long Weekend in Newport, and A Long Weekend in Providence. Collins provides information on where to trek, climb, cycle, boat, and shop. Complete with maps, photographs, illustrations, and special emphasis on leading destinations such as East Bay, Sakonnet, Newport, South County, and Jamestown, Moon Handbooks Rhode Island has the tools you need to create your own unique trip.
