Unexpectedly good,

I am a big fuss about "authenticity," so I didn't expect to enjoy this recording. I bought it just to waive it in the air as a horror example of a baritone in what was supposed to be a castrato role. And you know what? This recording is terrific. Yes, it's not authentic the way Jacobs' or Christie's recordings are, but the orchestra plays crisply, the singers tackle Handelian coloratura with skill and gusto, and Fritz Wunderlich is absolutely amazing.

This is the same recording as B00000IGR7 - but it has been digitally remastered so you can actually hear the music and text. The only drawback is that it has no libretto, so unless you get it from other sources you will not know what is going on.
