I purchased this pad for use at the gun range to place my pistols between shooting and reloading. The rubber backing does an excellent job of keeping the pad from slipping off the surface it sits on. The pad's surface is soft, woven and cushioned. I have not yet used it for cleaning any handguns, but the pad can be washed to remove any soiling. It conveniently folds into thirds and then half for storage in my range bag.
