This book is packed with interesting, tangible suggestions for changing the way you perceive and deal with situations while improving the world around you. I found the questions engaging and discussable. There was a particularly refreshing *lack* of the technical terms and hypotheses that often fill other books on emotional intelligence. This is a book for real people.

This was a refreshing change from other books on the same topic. It offers the reader quick reference to specific topics and areas of concern. The activities are easy to understand and to follow. It offered straight-forward realistic suggestions to assist the reader in pursuing improvement of emotional intelligence rather than exploring its causes and effects. It is a wonderful tool to assist parents raising their children and adults raising themselves. I would recommend it highly to family and friends.

After a lengthy parent/teacher conference, our son's 7th grade teacher gave us this book to read/use. Long story short, our son had lied to us regarding assignments. His teacher recommended this book as a way to rebuild the bridge of trust between all of us. We are buying multiple copies to give as gifts. This is a gem.
