5.0 out of 5 stars This book is great!
I can't believe people gave 1 and 2 stars to this book! I own the hardcover edition - it was a bit pricey, but after browsing through it a few times in a bookstore I decided I wanted it for my birthday present - it's so good!
There are a lot of great ideas in the book. They are also inspiring - by looking at the photos I get many ideas of my own. And not all the...

Sorry, but I do not agree with the reviews of the other two customers (I chose the book due to these comments!). I received this title last week and I want to sent it back now. I do no find new ideas there. Morever, the instructons are not clear (so beginners, avoid it!) I have bought other books with line-drawings (or photos) explaining the techniques. This book has no more than 6 (perhaps fewer?) line-drawings. There's a part of the book, the one of stamping, that is more interesting than the others, but naturally, I have not bought the book for just one chapter. It does not worth it. I have other books as "Card Crafting", "Greeting Cards with Priscilla Presley", Origami, which are really useful.

1.0 out of 5 stars In a word, this book STINKS, December 31, 2001
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I should've heeded the advice of other reviewers. "Beginners" nothing! This book is wonderful if you have a degree in commercial arts, apparently as much money to spend on gift wrap as the gift, and near infinite time to spend wrapping the presents.

The book opens with three pages on how to wrap an ordinary rectangular gift in ordinary fashion. After that, you're on your own for instructions as this book whizzes by at the speed of light! It shows you pretty pictures and offers perhaps four sentences each on how to duplicate them.

One gift actually suggestes pliars and wire cutters to wrap thick wire around the present. How is the recipient supposed to OPEN the darn thing?!

There are two good projects described in here, and I'll describe them both. Get a paint pen and write the recipient's name on an old fashioned large Christmas bulb. Wrap pipe cleaner around the metal end of the bulb and make a curly-q out of it. Looks cute! Second project: Just make the curly-q's out of the pipe cleaner in lots of colors.

If you have extensive resources of money, time, patience, and nothing better to do than spend several hours wrapping one present, this book is for you... in which case I've got a lovely mint condition used copy waiting for you. But if you're looking for clever ideas for gift wrap and some solid instructions, pass up this book in favor of its monetary equivilent in wrapping supplies to experiment with on your own.

I own about a dozen books on gift wrapping and gift giving and this one is definitely among the top five.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great ideas at low cost., October 18, 1999

Unique and different ideas that are not to complicated but are realistic to do. I want to use a lot of these ideas to add an extra touch to those people I really care about.

When I heard there was another book out by Jill Grover I had to get it. I loved the ideas in her Halloween book. Her giftwrap book had so many unique ideas. I especially liked the personalizing ideas, I think they make your gift extra special. It was fabulous! Very well worth your money.

1.0 out of 5 stars I'm disappointed., November 13, 2003

This book does have pictures of beautifully and cleverly wrapped gifts. Unfortunately, the directions are sparse and incomplete. Many ideas will take considerable time to complete. Not a beginner's book and not really worth the money. It does have a few simple, pretty, easy suggestions, but if you want ideas for a huge pile of Christmas gifts, buy another book.

1.0 out of 5 stars please save your money and your talent, July 24, 2004

I have been working in the design field for over 10 years now and I have yet to see a worse ripp off then this author not only are there no directions to her projects, but who would want to engage them selves in anything that turned out so chic and cheesey. I have personally met the author and her family I knew them for quite a while infact and never did I find that she could creatively enhance a project. she has some small skill in putting together junk so it doesn't look so much like junk. butlets face it - it's still junk. not something I would put in my house nor in my clients homes.
