This is a very good book for a starting lolita who cannot afford brands like Angelic Pretty, Baby the Stars shine bright, Mary Magdalene, ect and resorts to sewing and crafting. The only downfall is that it requires you to have knowledge on how to upscale and grade patterns as these are made for the average Asian body size/type. The book contains a pictorial and a short explanation/pictorial tutorial in the back of the book on the patterns. The patterns are pretty basic, which is good, it gives freedom for customization or alteration to maximize the usefulness of the book and the basicness of them. A lot of the pattern pieces can also be mixed and matched for fusion garments.

Measurements as follows
S Bust-31in Waist-23.6in Hip-33in height- 5' 1"
M Bust-32in Waist-25.2in Hip-35in height- 5' 2"
L Bust-35in Waist-27.5in Hip-37in height- 5' 3"

Patterns included are:
1 long sleeve cardigan [basic]
1 short sleeve cardigan [basic]
1 corset style bodice
large headbow [basic]
1 tiered jumper skirt [basic]
1 bustle back style jumper-skirt
1 fully shirred Jumper skirt
1 headband
1 Bonnet
1 OTT hair bow
2 blouse patterns [[1 classic one sweet][can make up to 4 blouses] features 2 different sleeves]]
1 FRILL h.Naoto tiered skirt [2012 collection spring/summer]
1 high waist skirt
1 Skirt [basic]
Mini bows
Fascinator
Wrist cuffs
Choker
Hair comb
Fancy bow
1 Tiered petticoat
1 Old school style skirt
Bloomers

Overall its a really great resource and definitely worth the buy but not worth 5 stars as the sizing and lack of translation leaves something left to be desired.

Because the entire book was in Japanese and I neither read nor speak Japanese, I had to guess my way through this entire book. I am an experienced clothes maker, but there were Japanese techniques that I couldn't understand at all. I fudged my way through the green dress on the cover and it came out looking pretty good. The tiered skirt was a special problem because there are no pattern pieces for the tiers and the drawings were confusing. My only real complaint about this is that there are a lot of cute clothes shown in here that there are no patterns for. That isn't readily obvious until you go through the book a few times.

If you are an inexperienced sewer, please do not buy this book. It costs way to much for all the trouble you will have with it. Try using other patterns and combine the pieces to get the same look.

i love the patterns they are very to follow, but i have trouble to read the language. even my daughter cannot understand the words in the books. and i have trouble finding somebody who can help me. that is the only reason why i gave this book three stars only.
