5.0 out of 5 stars A Beautiful Book January 14, 2011
By smf
Format:Hardcover
This book is everything you could ever want in a DIY wedding book. It's an unbelievable resource - so full of amazingly creative and clever ideas! The book is divided into six different themes: Retro Homespun, Girly Romantic, Happy Graphic, Organic Minimal, Modern Classic and Found. With around nine or ten delightful product ideas in each chapter. It's totally got something for everyone. I'm already married, but I still had to get it - it's just so full of beautiful, inspired and inspiring images. My friends and I can't get over how lovely it is.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for inspiration February 12, 2011
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have been somewhat disappointed in most bridal magazines, shows and what not because they only offer traditional, cookie cutter ideas and options. I was very pleased to find a book that offered such nice diy ideas for my upcoming wedding. I adored the differing themes that were offered, such as "girly romantic", "modern classic", etc. The projects were fresh and in some cases very applicable to our wedding.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book. But a note about "Balsa Wood Invitations" March 13, 2012
By Nels
Format:Hardcover
I enjoyed this book and we have used some of the ideas for our wedding.

However, I would like to make people aware of an issue:
On page 133 is a design for balsa wood wedding invitations. In the instructions they say to make sure that your postage is enough to account for the weight of the entire invitation. Unfortunately, they left out the fact that rigid letters like this one also requires more postage. In our case, we were very careful to check the weight and size, but because we did not account for the rigidity, some of our invitations were returned from the post office (and in quite a poor state).

5.0 out of 5 stars Great handmade wedding ideas! August 27, 2011
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I love this book! The great part about it is that not only does it have sets of colors and styles, but if you find something you like in another style, there's a section that tells you how to make it work for your pick. This has really interesting ideas on how to recycle things you have around the house or things you can pick up at garage sales or at goodwill. Great buy if you have time to craft up your DIY wedding!

4.0 out of 5 stars A must-have for brides and planners May 18, 2011
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this book even though I knew it included many projects I already knew, because I was looking for inspiration and for a tool to use with clients (I am a wedding planner) to show them what can be accomplished with seemingly inexpensive ingredients (such as paper, for example).

I have to say I found exactly what I needed. The book has shown me ways of using skills and projects I already knew, but in a different way. But most importantly, it is a solid collection of inspiration boards, that brides can immediately relate to. Instructions are always complete and clear, even though the projects are not always easy to replicate. But that is something we all know: DIY is not an easy route for brides to take, unless they have time, relevant skills and a lot of help from their family and friends.

I think this is a formidable basic reading for planners and brides alike. Build your library on it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book! May 4, 2011
By Emilie
Format:Hardcover
I am not planning a wedding, but purchased this book based on other reviews I've read. I am very happy with my purchase. There are many great ideas for party planning and/or home decorating; this book has uses way beyond weddings. I also loved how the book was divided by styles, and offered suggestions for color palettes. If you are a crafty person, I think you will enjoy this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best craft book and great projects April 17, 2011

I love this book! It's almost like a text book and would have been a great resource when I was a nanny. Hello Lucky! did my wedding save the dates and invitations and so I knew what to expect. I love all the projects and my only regret is that I didn't have it when I got married last year.
