5.0 out of 5 stars So nice, I'm ordering another., August 4, 2000

As the other reviews attest, this journal is very, very nice. I've been looking all over for a nice, elegant journal. I've found some nice ones, but the cost was exorbitant. Then, on a whim, I decided to check Amazon.com. I was nervous b/c there's no picture, but these reviews reassured me. I was NOT disappointed. The journal is a comfortable size, and fits unobtrusively into my briefcase. The cover is a nice soft leather. It is two colors, separated into left and right sections. Each section is a different texture. The black and more flexible and textured leather is toward the binding side. The smoother brown section (about 2/3 of the area) is toward the opening side. (By the way, it smells like good leather too.) Small, flat silver rivets traverse down a narrow band of brown leather that separates the two sides. The paper is a beige color and is lined. The paper texture is somewhat smooth, and I've noticed that the ink from my fountain pen might not be the best suited for this paper. The paper might not be as absorbent as it needs to be for having a nice dry line with such an instrument. Not a problem, however, b/c a nice ballpoint or rollerball will do just fine (unless, of course, one doesn't mind a wet line). As noted, there are more than 300 pages to write on, so there is ample space to write your thoughts, experiences, and/or musings. Even so, I'm ordering another as soon as I complete this review! It's a very nice journal, a great value, and I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lined Journal, March 18, 2000

This review is from: Handmade leather journal (Leather Bound)
What can I say... it's great. I was looking for an excellent, rustic leather-bound journal for a friend, and I found this one, which is perfect. It has about 2 inches of black leather on the left side, a marroon strap with rivets going top to bottom on top of the black, and then solid marroon leather going to the right side. The back looks similar, without the rivetted strap. The spine has small loops in it (bad way to describe it) but looks very nice. Overall, it looks EXCELLENT. It also has a hint of a rustic feel to it, without flowers and such that a woman might want. But it looks really good.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Jewel!, January 28, 2002

You will not be disappointed with this leather crafted journal.
It is my first journal and I wanted to find something special to write in. The pages are unlined, which I was looking for, and although they might have been a little thicker, the journal is overall excellent in quality for the price.
