5.0 out of 5 stars Save your money, May 27, 1999

This review is from: Hands-On Atm (Mcgraw-Hill Computer Communication Series) (Paperback)
The first 100 pages are basically a sales pitch on the advantages of ATM. The authors are VERY biased and are missing what the industry is doing with technology. It's clear these authors are in the minority of today's backbone engineers. While they state they are objective, it's clear they are not.

Once you get into the book, it's a very rudimentary guide to ATM. The book is riddled with vendors responding to an RFP and they put way too many spreadsheets of comparisons of vendors equipment.

There are many other books out there that are better than this offering.

Well-written, average depth, easily readable. Good for the day-to-day user. Good beginning book, but not too basic. Recommend to all.
