Clap Hands Here Comes Rosie is a classic swing album, with Clooney singing so smooth, throughout. The second is Fancy Meeting You Here all duets with Bing Crosby who gets billed second. Crosby & Clooney go arond the world in this fun and exotic swing album reminiscint of Sinatra's Come Fly With Me. Excellent music, and some excellent jazz singing from both Clooney sos, and Clooney & Crosby together... Highly recommeded...

The Rosemary Clooney tracks are great, but the duets with Clooney and Crosby are the stuff records were made for! I bought a cheap abridged version of that album back in 1986 on cassette, and it hasn't left my Walkman since! That's how good this album is. Done by Billy May about the same time he did Frank Sinatra's "Come Fly With Me," but believe it or not, this album is superior to Sinatra's! Tracks like "Slow Boat to China" are not only fun, but also lush and stylistic. Their versions of "It Happened in Monterrey" and "Brazil" take two staples and add some even catchier twists to these songs. But if for no other reason, buy this album and love their version of "I Can't Get Started." Each of their duets is memorable, but "Started" is one of the finest tracks I've heard. The lyrics have been adjusted, and Bing handles them perfectly, but Rosie's first lines in the song, ending with "Superman turns out to be a flash in the pan," followed by an emphatic taste of brass to underscore the sentiment is a real whopper. There isn't any other album I've been listening to for 15 years as much as I've been listening to this. This is truly one of the most underappreciated albums of the 1950s. Bing, Rosie, and Billy were all in top form on this record. The vocalizations and orchestrations mesh perfectly. It'll take your breath away.

One of the best CDs I ever bought! Too bad Capitol is sitting on the follow up to this session! "That Travilin' 2 Beat" finds May and Clooney trippin the light fantastic around the world with Bing again! But like so many great sessions of theirs .... Capitol just sits on it! Thank goodness I have it on a tape and Lp... although the eq is not up to what it could be if remixed for CD!
