Great Resource for Integrating Math and other Subjects,
By Bernadette (Minnesota) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hands-On Math Projects with Real Life Applications: Ready-to-Use Lessons and Materials for Grades 6-12 (J-B Ed: Hands On) (Spiral-bound)
Hands-On Math Projects with Real-Life Applications offers many math projects classified for an integrated approach to math and other subjects. As a parent who is home schooling a teenager I have found the projects to be a helpful resource. Each project identifies the learning goal, math skills which will used, material needed and how to conduct the project. Although geared to math teachers in a school setting I have found it very helpful in the home school setting.

Comprehensive and useful,

The Muschla's book is an excellent resource for the Algebra II and Pre-Algebra classes I teach. The best part about this book is that the materials are all there (worksheets, instructions, etc.), and they can be easily adapted to the various high school mathematics levels of instruction. I will start a project during one class period, then allow students time at the end of class on subsequent days to complete it as a supplement to my lessons.
