A perfect combination of protection, function, and size,

Handspring has succeeded so brilliantly in large part because of their engineering prowess. Their design of the Visor and its cases is truly superb. The bifold case is padded enough to keep your visor safe from the occasional light drop, and let's face it, gravity will eventually exert its effects, no matter how careful you are. The case also contains a small pad, which is ideal for giving a small note to a non-Palm associate. PDAs are great, but they don't print--yet. Perhaps the best selling point, though, is it's size. It's large enough for the pad, some business cards, ID cards, credit card-sized cards, etc, and large enough so you don't lose it by forgetting it (I've seen people forget smaller devices). It's not too large, though, to tote around all day or pack quickly. In fact, it even fits comfortably in my chinos. I've seen a number of Visor cases, and while others certainly have merit, this is by far my favorite "everyday" case.

i was looking for a wallet replacement and a means to toting my visor around with me at all times. found it. pockets for the cards are a bit tight but loosen up as the case wears. i wish the billfold was a wee bit longer so a bill could fit w/o folding it over. if you put too much or try to access the pocket behind the visor, it will fall out. i am always worried that the lcd is not properly protected as well. i just sat down yesterday w/ it in my rear pocket and messed up the lcd. fortunaetly handspring is sending me replacement visor free of charge! all in all, best i've seen yet, though definitely has its shortcomings.

A complete Handspring system...,

I transitioned from a paper planner to a Handspring Visor, andwas really looking for the best case to protect my new organizer and help me move away from all of that paper. This is the only case that Amazon.com offers which includes both a paper pad and a set of card slots, and I decided that both of those were important to me.This case is both professional and functional, since there is also room for papers as well as an additional pen. It is a classy exterior for a cool looking Visor, and definitely protects your investment. One note, though. After I received my Visor I visited the Handspring web site, which has a much larger variety of cases than the ones featured here. Although there is a greater selection through Handspring, those cases are much more expensive...

I got this case primarily for the money pocket. I was disappointed in the money pocket because it's too tight a fit, and doesn't hold much money. It's better for slipping a little cash in when you don't want to carry the whole purse, but need your credit cards and license that are housed in the unit. And forget change, it won't hold it. But, it holds my license, credit cards, and my business cards wonderfully, but it's not the complete replacement of my wallet that I wanted. The Visor snaps securely into the holder, most other cases I looked at had velcro holders for the PDA, and they weren't secure. In this case, you Visor isn't going anywhere you don't want it to. As for the memo pad, I find that I don't really use, but it makes a great padding/protector for the Visor screen, since the Visor cover won't go on the Visor when it's in the case. I'd be careful about what kind of pen you put in the penholder, as it could scratch the visor screen if not closed carefully and once in awhile I noticed the pen I had in it could actually hit the power button and turn the visor on, so I recommend a very small pen. The latch is velcro, and holds very securely. Overall, I am happy with this purchase. The good outways the bad, and it is by far the best case of the ones I have checked out. Plus, it's real leather and looks great. As for protection for the Visor, it's been dropped once from a standing position and fell on once, and it's survived both in this case. I wouldn't recommend skydiving with it, but it provides some nice cushion.

Does Not Wear Well,

The wallet could have been a great product. Unfortunately, it is one of the only ones with the bracket that locks the Visor in. BEWARE: the credit card and license slot pockets RIP after ONE MONTH of steady use! If you use your cards a lot (like I do), you will need a new wallet after a month, or else worry that a loose credit card will fall out when you least expect it. Also, as with the Visor, THERE IS NO WARRANTY, AND THEY WON'T TAKE IT BACK. It's an INFERIOR product.

Protect that PDA!,

I can't say it more: Protect your investment! I once dropped my old Visor and got a crack right down the middle of the screen. It was useless. I have since bought another and I took NO CHANCES, you must have all the protection you can get for these things. I've dropped it once since and it was fine. Grab this when you order a Visor from Amazon's site.

Handspring Bi-Fold Leather Case,
By Rob B. (San Antonio, Texas) - See all my reviews

I purchased a case for my Visor Platinum to protect it from my tendency to drop it. I had already replaced one and was not in the mood to replace another. Little did I know that the case itself could damage the finish on my PDA. Although it it only cosmetic, it is damage none the less. The finish on the Visor emblem has rubbed off as well as a spot on the top front panel. Most of the damage appears to have been caused by the included paper pad. The paper also seems to have left a residue all over the leather interior of the case. Another dislike is that the case looks old and worn with very little use. I am currently looking to replace this case with a RhinoSkin Ti Slider for Handspring Visor which has a soft interior. The better to protect you from damage my pretty.

Doesn't work with visorphone,
This review is from: Handspring Bi-Fold Leather Case (Office Product)
This is a great case...but it doesn't work if you have a springboard module that adds any depth to your Handspring. The visorphone's battery protrudes from the back of the handheld, and makes it impossible for it to click in to the holder in this case. I have a brand new one in the box if anyone's interested. :-P

I bought this case because I liked how the visor snapped into place. However, within the first two months of use, both pieces had snapped off. First one snapped off when I was putting the visor in, and the second one snapped off when I dropped the case while it was open.

Offers great protection, but has some cons,

The Handspring leather case will keep your palm pilot secure in the case and will not wiggle loose. You just snap it in (holes on the bottom of your palm will fit easily into the two bumps and the top just snaps back for a tight fit) The leather look is sleek and the case closes with a push of the velcoIt does has some flaws how ever. When your opened and trying to use it, the strap to keep it close gets in the way, this can be solved by poking the strap between the palm and case. Also the pockets inside aren't big enough to fit much of anything. But if you got a small paper like a list of things you need to get when your out, it fit in nicely. Overall this item is very useful because it could cost you lots of money and time if you drop and break your palm but consider the flaws before buying. |
