5.0 out of 5 stars A Home-Away-From-Home for your new Visor., June 5, 2000
By Mark Hiatt (Lincoln, NE USA, where Lindbergh learned to fly.) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
We got Visors at work and I thought I was happy. Then I realized that when I got home, I'd have different data on my home PC than what I'd been using at work, or on my Visor. The solution? The USB Cradle! Just plug it into the back of the PC, in that empty USB port, and restart. A minute later the driver installs automagically and you're hot-synching you way to total synchronicity. When not in use, the cradle isn't a problem. I keep mine next to my monitor, but it's very lightweight and easily moved. Construction seems pretty rugged, though you really just set the Visor into it and so it should last a long time.

My wife got a Visor when she saw how much fun I was having with mine, and the desktop software is smart enough to know when she lays hers in the cradle and when it's mine. I like that aspect of things: No switching users, or choosing from a menu of names. Just drop your visor into the cradle and hit the hotsynch button. What could be simpler?

5.0 out of 5 stars Very easy to use, this item is a must., May 30, 2001
By Stanward S Oshiro (Honolulu, Hawaii USA) - See all my reviews
Although majority of the Handspring units come with a cradle. I purchased a second cradle for use at work so I can backup/hotsync my visor everyday in two locations(redundancy is good).

USB connectivity is great, as long as you're running Windows 95B and later or Windows 2000. Sorry for the NT users, it's time to upgrade to Windows 2000.

Serial cradles seem to a bit slower, but it depends on how much stuff you hotsync.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stay In Sync, April 15, 2001
By "trehel" (Taylors, South Carolina) - See all my reviews
I got my Visor one week and ordered the second cradle the next week! A must if you are syncing a home and a work computer. At work I sync with Outlook and at home I use the Palm desktop software and they get along great.
