These are great to keep flies off of fruit or to cover food on a picnic table.

They fold flat and take up very little storage space.

These food cover sets are very large, tall enough to cover a cake, and perfect for any outdoor function. I purchased 2 sets because I like them so much. They collapse for easy storage and pop open for easy use.

Since we started using these covers we have had no fruit flies. The fruit just spoils on its own. Be sure that the cover that you use reaches the table top so that there is no way for anything to fly or crawwl under the cover. They have been great.

A fun fact about flies. Did you know that when flies land on food, they barf on it and then slurp the liquefied waste up? Also, flies are obviously attracted to feces and they carry all sorts of nasty germs on their hairy little bodies. So, maybe one goes on there. Well, that's not too bad. But multiple flies can mean a majorly upset stomach.

So, to get back to my product review: We just got done with hosting our annual block party Fourth of July party at our house and I had HAD IT with the flies. Last year and the prior years (this is our fourth), it's been Fly-mageddon. I mean those little bastards are all over the food. It's a total waste of money, because who wants to eat flyblown food? Not only that, but all of the food has to be tossed out afterwards.

This year: NO FLIES. Seriously. They tried and they tried, they crawled all over the netting to get at the food, they went to the bottom rim and they couldn't find their way in. Everyone marveled at the simplicity of these awesome covers. The transparency was great. People could tell what was inside, and if they couldn't, they could easily lift the top and take a quick peek. And we had all sorts of dishes: Big ones for hamburgers, chicken, hot dogs, shrimp (the flies REALLY wanted in on that one), pie dishes. These fit every single dish. I bought two sets and they were plenty for a small potluck BBQ party with 25 guests.

All the while, as I was chatting w/guests, I was watching the food like a hawk, just waiting for one to get in. It was oddly and totally satisfying to see the little pests trying to make contact with the food and failing. I was maybe a little too "into" it, as you can tell, but if you're kind of a germ-aphobe in any way, you will totally appreciate these.

This product is as advertised. The covers protect food very well. I use them indoors to protect fruit pies while they are cooling, and after the pies have been cut -- a plastic cover makes the piecrust soggy. These covers are quite light in weight, and might have to be weighted down if used outside in a breeze.

We've been having a big problem with fruit flies this summer. I was being driven crazy by them and I couldn't get rid of them. But I don't like to refrigerate fruit or tomatoes because so frequently they are not ripe when I buy them at the market. I thought about putting a strainer over them but I realized the holes were too big to keep the pests out.

Amazon to the rescue. I searched for some food nets and found these. They are wide enough and tall enough to protect a large fruit bowl or several packs of tomatoes. The mesh is small enough to keep the flies out and allow the fruit and tomatoes to fully ripen. No loss of either to the fruit flies.

These are better than the umbrella style food covers, particularly for use indoors because they are taller rather than wider and take up less space. Good quality and work great to keep tiny fruit bugs at bay!

If you have a flying insect problem, this is a great item. Nylon mesh is small enough to keep even the smallest fruit flies out while the covers themselves are large enough to accommodate practically anything you might need them for (except maybe a 20 pound turkey) and store easily.

It says the mesh is small enough for even very small insects, so I assumed it would keep fruit flies out, which is why I bought this set. The mesh IS small enough, but the bottom edge is uneven so the covers do not lay flat against the counter, fruit flies are small enough to go under the uneven areas, so it will not keep them out.
