5.0 out of 5 stars Food Cover Sets, November 9, 2006
These food cover sets are very large, tall enough to cover a cake, and perfect for any outdoor function. I purchased 2 sets because I like them so much. They collapse for easy storage and pop open for easy use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Food Covers work great, July 14, 2007

This product is as advertised. The covers protect food very well. I use them indoors to protect fruit pies while they are cooling, and after the pies have been cut -- a plastic cover makes the piecrust soggy. These covers are quite light in weight, and might have to be weighted down if used outside in a breeze.

5.0 out of 5 stars fruit fly don't bother me, September 9, 2009

Since we started using these covers we have had no fruit flies. The fruit just spoils on its own. Be sure that the cover that you use reaches the table top so that there is no way for anything to fly or crawwl under the cover. They have been great.

Buy a set now before they disapear. Food covers are great . I use them all yeararound, in case flies should get in the house or the cats! want to investigate. These have a great bungee cord and fold flat. I use them almost everyday. A basic kitchen item.

5.0 out of 5 stars perfect for picnics, and keeping fruit flies away, May 24, 2010

I originally purchased these items for an outdoor bbq, as we have a fly problem in our backyard. While I wish all 3 were the same large size, I've found uses for each of them. They are easy to use, just remove the rubberband thing for them to pop up, and flatten/secure with the band to close. Stores easy. I use them almost every other day for bread baking (letting the dough rise on the counter) to keep the random bug or fruit fly off of the dough, and also use them for cooling items, or any food item sitting out on the counter.

We've been having a big problem with fruit flies this summer. I was being driven crazy by them and I couldn't get rid of them. But I don't like to refrigerate fruit or tomatoes because so frequently they are not ripe when I buy them at the market. I thought about putting a strainer over them but I realized the holes were too big to keep the pests out.

Amazon to the rescue. I searched for some food nets and found these. They are wide enough and tall enough to protect a large fruit bowl or several packs of tomatoes. The mesh is small enough to keep the flies out and allow the fruit and tomatoes to fully ripen. No loss of either to the fruit flies.

These are better than the umbrella style food covers, particularly for use indoors because they are taller rather than wider and take up less space. Good quality and work great to keep tiny fruit bugs at bay!

These are great. Much easier than the umbrellas (which my husband cannot manage, not because of athritis or anything.... just becaue he is kinda stupid, although funnily enough he CAN manage a big textile factory!)
ANYWAY they take up virtually no space when storing and the three different sizes are very handy. Living in the tropics they are a must.

If you have a flying insect problem, this is a great item. Nylon mesh is small enough to keep even the smallest fruit flies out while the covers themselves are large enough to accommodate practically anything you might need them for (except maybe a 20 pound turkey) and store easily.
