5.0 out of 5 stars The much under rated Jimmy 'Handyman' Jones
This Cd has Jimmy's 4 charted Billboard hits, but there is much much more. A showcase of a true star. With 48 tracks it is a true "anthology",
the booklet is a little disappointing, it is a fold out type. Forget that, the music is just great. If you enjoyed, Good Timin' - Handyman, you'll be become lost in the magic of this double CD.

3.0 out of 5 stars Anthology? You're Kidding, Right?
There are any number of artists with a lot of hit singles over the years and when they are compiled, there is always some reviewer bemoaning the fact that some obscure song that he likes has been left off the package and it touches his lonely world. With this package though, you have an artist who had two great back-to-back hits and basically was never heard from again...

5.0 out of 5 stars Pop/r&b classics~Bravo trailblazer Jimmy Jones!~, August 4, 2010

Jimmy Jones two huge mega-hits "Good Timin'" and "Handy Man" give the impression this was the extent of classic songs from this groundbreaking artist to the casual listener but nothing could be further from the truth as this highly entertaining double Anthology illustrates...filled with great songs, clearly many pop/r&b artists who followed borrowed heavily from this sadly overlooked giant who should be acclaimed in the United States like he is in Europe! Great songs like two-sided "That's When I Cried" b/w "I Just Go For You" winning combo should have topped the charts but for some reason didn't receive exposure...hit sounds continue throughout awesome collection of varied and amazing songs happily containing no filler. Jimmy Jones a influential great singer/songwriter from the wondrous musical era where you had to have a real voice to make it and Jimmy Jones can sing up a storm...sensational collection a must-have for any true music lover!~

With this package though, you have an artist who had two great back-to-back hits and basically was never heard from again. The seller says this item is for sale with the consent of Jimmy Jones; why am I not surprised? "Good Timin'" and "Handyman" ( the latter not improved on by the laid-back James Taylor) were classics, but it's rare indeed to hear them on an oldies station. And Jimmy Jones, now well into his 60s I figure, was a talent in his day but one does not generally yearn to be able to listen for over an hour to filler, not even that melancholy reviewer mentioned above. To get their price for this "anthology" with songs few if any have even heard of, the packagers will likely have to put a gun in the ribs of any buyer. Boo! Hiss!
