This review is from: Hangin' with Mr. Cooper (DVD)
I too wish they would release this show, along with other 80's and 90's series!!!! If they can release older and other shows from these years, they should release this one as well....I watch this show every night durning the week when it airs with the 2 episodes....These producers need to listen to the fans and hurry up and release all these shows!!!! We as the fans are the ones who bring the money in for them still to this day...Hopefully, they will continue to air this show:0) I would recommend this series highly because it is wholesome, good and funny family show:0)

One of the few "black" shows that you can watch with family. Im surprised its dated 1992, i thought it was from late 90's. Some of my fav people are in this film and the cast from top to bottom do a great job and their all entertaining in their on way. It's a keeper and really miss the show.

it will come out they have to decide on who will distribute the show becuse I think it came out on warner brother television distribution like family matters. Then again it could be disney or with ABC itself but it took martin a while to find disutribution it ended up being HBO, they might have to give ABC some money for its future DVD sales thats what taking a long time. But I will say keep requesting it and it should be out by the summer of 09

Hangin' with Mr. Cooper had some of the funniest moments in TV in the 90s. There were reams of guest stars that we all know and love in just the first season alone (Alan Thicke, John Stamos, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Jurnee Smollett, Miko Hughes, Roxie Roker, Shar Jackson, Lela Rochon, Chris Tucker, Roger E. Mosley, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Shawn Wayans, Marsha Warfield...) not to mention a whole host of basketball stars. Hopefully the studio will see fit to release this on DVD so we can all relive the memories. To jog yours a bit, here are the episodes from Season 1:
1. The Presentation - First aired: 9/22/1992 In the series opener, unemployed Mark Cooper gets a job as a substitute teacher at his old high school. He also shares his house with two beautiful women: Robin, a music teacher who also works at the school, and Vanessa, a rich girl whom Mark is attracted to. On his first day of school, Mark has to deal with unruly students who give him a hard time. But Mark soon finds a solution to impress his class. 2. Hangin' with Michelle - First aired: 9/29/1992 When Mark becomes a substitute teacher, he gets a handful. His class includes playful little Michelle Tanner (Full House). When Michelle and her friends begin to torment Mark, he does a trick to get them to be quiet- and ends up hurting his behind. Michelle feels very guilty and comes over to "help him." 3. On the Rebound - First aired: 10/6/1992 Mark's former girlfriend, Paula, moves back into town and wants to get reacquainted with him. 4. Please Pass the Jock - First aired: 10/20/1992 Robin needs to earn money to afford a ski trip. Mark faces an ethical dilemma about a basketball player he's asked to pass, whether he deserves it or not. 5. Cheers - First aired: 10/27/1992 Robin attempts to fix Vanessa's car. Mark substitutes as a Phys. Ed. teacher and tries to prep the cheerleading squad for a competition. 6. Warriors (1) - First aired: 11/10/1992 Mark has a tryout for the Golden State Warriors. Meanwhile, Vanessa and Robin try the financial markets to make money. 7. Robin gets Vanessa to help her practice for her self-defense class. 8. Torn Between Two Teachers - First aired: 11/24/1992 Andre can't choose between his music and basketball. Robin wants him to concentrate on piano playing, but Mark wants him to focus on basketball. 9. Meanwhile, Robin's new exercise machine proves troublesome. 10. Miracle in Oaktown - First aired: 12/15/1992 Mark and Robin agree to let Vanessa do Christmas her family's way at the house. The school puts on a Christmas carnival. 11. Unforgettable - First aired: 1/5/1993 Robin's jazz musician father comes for a visit. Vanessa tries to start a new relationship. 12.
