This item is really cheaply made, and probably won't hang more than 5 lbs for very long before it rots out. It's not worth half the price.

The cat wireframe screws into the wood from the back, then you mount the assembled hanger to the wall via two mounting holes on the wood. Use caution when mounting; I pre-drilled the mounting holes, and the wood still split on one mounting point. It's a thin piece of wood that looks spraypainted black, I'll likely replace it with a sturdier piece of wood at some point, but for now, it is holding a plant hanger basket with a spider plant in it with no issues at all. Most importantly, the wife is happy with it.
