5.0 out of 5 stars Celtic Canadian Cream of the Crop and more. . ., March 2, 2001
By
Lisbeth Lanpher (Lexington, Kentucky USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Hanging Garden (1997 Film) (Audio CD)
This is a great soundtrack. Loaded with Celtic inspired songs. The CD also contains a good amount of contemporary female vocalists in the genre of Sarah Maclaughlin. The songs flow well into one another, allowing you to enjoy a great atmosphere. This is a great CD for a first, second or third date. If a guy took me to his place and played this CD, I'd be all into further investigation of the man (and I mean that in the best way!) Many pieces are haunting and melodic, the kind of songs that you can't turn off in the car when you reach your destination. Instrumentation is largely celtic, with recorders, keyboards, fiddles and squeezebox. There are a few great bluesy pieces thrown in. All in all, it's got that "foreign" flair, and vive la difference!

A touching and poignant soundtrack to a sweet movie. Features an eclectic but warm mix of music.
