Product Description

2D-Glasses are a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser for your 3D-addled eyeballs. Buy them. Gizmodo. These things are going to sell like crazy. Techland About 10% of Americans experience some form of discomfort while watching 3D movies and television. Symptoms range from a mild headache to severe nausea. 2D-Glasses are the solution. Glasses allow any RealD 3D movie to be viewed as if it is a normal two-dimensional movie. They were created so that Hank Green's wife could watch 3D movies together with him without getting a headache. Soon, Hank realized that they weren't the only people with this problem, so he made them available to help the rest of the population. Hank's wife loves them, and he hopes you will too. Frequently Asked Questions my girlfriend friend / husband / mom has a condition. Will 2D Glasses help them? If your friend or loved one can enjoy a regular movie, they can enjoy a 3D movie with 2D glasses. Will your 2D Glasses work with my home 3D television? Maybe. If your television uses "passive 3D" technology then they will work. Basically, if your 3D glasses have batteries and cost lots of money, our 2D glasses won't work for your 3D television. Do 2D Glasses work at IMAX theaters? Alas, no. IMAX uses a different technology than normal movie theaters so 2D-Glasses will not work at an IMAX theater, however over 85% of the 3D movies shown are viewed with RealD technology, which the 2D glasses are perfect for. How do 2D Glasses work? 2D Glasses block the same image with both lenses, so each eye gets the same picture resulting in a 2D image and an elimination of eyeball strain. Now You Can go to the Movies with Friends, See the 3D Film you all Want to Watch, and Enjoy it Without Walking out with a Throbbing Headache.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply amazing! April 23, 2011
I've always had discomfort when watching 3D movies, and i've always hated it because i like to watch movies, but 50 % of all blockbuster movies are only in 3D nowadays. With these amazing glasses i can finally watch movies again. I thank you

5.0 out of 5 stars 2D Glasses: Buy In Confidence May 8, 2011
Many of us are skeptics of 3D movies, and yet we still have times when we get dragged to 3D movies with fiends, lovers, or groups; or when a 3D showing may be the only thing available to us. Enter 2D Glasses, designed to turn the 3D image back into 2D. But do they work?

Well, based on my test screening, they work perfectly. I took them to a 3D screening of Thor, and had the theater-provided 3D glasses and the 2D glasses side by side. Thor has some really effective, pronounced 3D when viewed with the theater gasses, as did some of the previews. The 2D glasses were so good at flattening them back to 2D that I was really quite shocked. No residual blurriness (one of my big complaints about 3D is the sometimes blurry images), and really no hint at all that I wasn't looking at a "natively" 2D projection.

If you aren't a fan of 3D but feel like you just can't escape it, you can buy these in confidence.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Modular April 29, 2011
I ordered two of these, one pair for myself and one for my father. They both arrived at the same time, so naturally I put them on immediately. I forgot to remove the first pair before putting on the second, which is when I discovered a hidden feature of these glasses.

It seems obvious now that I think about it, but it turns out, when you wear 2 pairs of 2d glasses at once, they effectively become 4d glasses! I found myself able to see through both space and time, something I had only previously experienced while under the effects of completely legitimate medication.

Suddenly I was able to see the seconds ticking away as the universe aged, and I must say, they're very pretty-looking. These glasses are definitely a solid buy, especially in pairs. I want to buy a third set as I am very keen to see what the world looks like in 6 dimensions.

5.0 out of 5 stars 3D in 2D for real May 17, 2011

I recently purchased a Vizio passive 3D TV, but some family members do not enjoy 3D, so I was very pleased to find the 2D glasses. The glasses shipped and arrived very quickly and work great. These are essentially the same thing as the Real D glasses used in most movie theaters, but render the image in 2D vs. 3D. Build quality was good. Recommended if you have friends or family members that don't like the 3D effect.

With a product such as this, I am amazed that there are so many "joke" reviews and so few real ones. Made it difficult for my wife and I to decide to purchase them. So, now that I've tried them out, here is my take on them.

Frustrated by all the blockbuster films ONLY being released in 3D, or being mostly released in 3D? Get migraines or headaches when you try to watch it, in 3D? Even get sick to your stomach? Then if you want to be able to watch your anticipated films on the big-screen, and not have to wait for the DVD release, you need to get these glasses.

They are very comfortable, and as sturdy as any of the 3D glasses that are given to you when you go to a 3D movie. Occasionally, the film will get a bit blurry around the edges, but that isn't due to the glasses. That is a product of the 3D filming process, because they want certain objects on screen to stay in the background, and other items to pop out at you. The glasses can't stop it, but it's rare.

The only thing I would caution you about is to be careful with your glasses at the end of the movie. They look like the regular 3D glasses, so be careful not to throw them into the recycle bin with all the rest!

Thanks for an awesome product!

4.0 out of 5 stars Yay! June 6, 2011

3D movies give me migraines a solid 90% of the time. Nigh unto everyone in my life loves them however, which has resulted in me missing a lot of movies. Now I can go with them without risking debilitating pain.

The fit and the shape could use a bit of fine tuning, and as they're intended to be a reusable item, I wish they were a little more solid feeling, but I take care of my stuff, so I'm not expecting any problems. If you're notoriously hard on your stuff, buy multiple pairs, just in case.

These glasses worked perfect! My husband and I both get headaches from 3d movies and over the weekend watched Priest 3D with the glasses on. If you are tired of watching 3d movies at the theater, these are worth it!
