5.0 out of 5 stars Thanks, Columbia Records
Everyone knows Hank was a very prolific songwriter (witness "Your Cheatin' Heart", "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry"), but this set makes an even better case for it. "A Stranger In The Night" ranks with the best of Hank's music he ever wrote. This is an essential purchase for anyone who likes 50's style country or Hank, Sr. The only...

1.0 out of 5 stars Hank Williams Songbook
This CD is very mialeading, All imformation on it indicates that this Cd has songs sang by Hank Williams, in reality there is not ONE SINGLE SONG in there, sung by Hank, only other aetists singing his songs, and not very well either, with the exception of Marty Robbins! I feel the discription of tis CD shhould be changed to properly portray what it really contains.

"A Stranger In The Night" ranks with the best of Hank's music he ever wrote. This is an essential purchase for anyone who likes 50's style country or Hank, Sr. The only drawback is the set could've been just a tad bit longer. I realize Columbia was drawing from their vault for this material, but where is the Roy Acuff version of "Jesus Died For Me" a song Williams wrote specifically for Acuff? But, what's here gets 5 stars!

A solid alblum, with some great classics to add to any collection. The editing effort could use some work, but overall an enjoyable experience.

I've been a devotee to Hank Williams music since serving in the Navy overseas during the early 1960's, and thought that by now I'd purchased every one of his songs (except for "Back Street Affair" that he did live on radio but never did record).

Surprise! this album contains several of my favorites including When God Comes and Gathers His Jewels, I Saw the Light, I Don't Care if Tomorrow Never Comes, I Can't Help it if I'm Still in Love With You, and Cold Cold Heart. I enjoy many of the others, but until now had never heard of No Not Now, Honey do You Love Me, A Stranger in The Night, Me and My Broken Heart, I Wish You Didn't Love me so Much, I Lost The Only Love I Knew, When You're Tired of Breaking Other's, and I Can't Escape From You.

Any true Hank William historian should obtain this album to pass on to their future generations "the 'Best Musician of all time'"!
