Hank for Afficionados,
By JAMES TRAVIS "wack jhitlock" (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: "Hank Williams Sr. - 24 Greatest Hits, Vol. 2" (Audio CD)
No Cheatin Heart, Jambalaya, So Lonesome I Could Cry or any of the stuff that has been covered a hundred times or more in here.Just the songs you might have heard fifty years ago and had almost forgotten. My Bucket's Got a Hole In It, Crazy Heart and I'm Sorry For You My Friend. Hank wrote all of his own material long before this became the trend and he was years ahead of his time in his presentation and in incorporating various styles and forms into his compositons. It is a pleasant revelation and proof that Hank's music stands up fifty years after his death.

This has some great material if someone is just discovering Hank this is an excellent choice. My favorite tune lets turn back the years a sad number about trying to recapture love that is sadly gone away. The song i'll never get out this world alive is in a way prophetic.I wear this cd out.Hank paved the way for country music the way Elvis did for rock to bad that is not more acknowledged the man did some hard living died young but is legend to bad they do not play is music on the radio these days. The greatest country singer ever if do not agree its only because you don't know what your talking about.
