Editorial Reviews

Within months of the release of the 'sweet-teen-turned-heroin-addict-prostitute' hit CHRISTIANE F., European producers rushed to copy its shocking plot. But no film aimed lower than this 1984 filth-fest from writer/director 'Axel Berger', a.k.a. Italian SleazeMaster Rino Di Silvestro of WEREWOLF WOMAN and WOMEN IN CELL BLOCK 7 infamy. As Dutch schoolgirl Hanna D, Ann-Gisel Glass delivers an eye-popping performance that takes her from coy teenage tease to depraved junkie whore, complete with a parade of perversion that includes voyeurism, mutilation, sleazy pimps, drunk nude mothers and more.

2.0 out of 5 stars "Restored DVD" Poor picture quality June 15, 2013
Format:DVD
OK, I suppose I'm a little spoiled by all the nice looking Blu-ray releases we've been getting of cult, trash-cinema, Eurosleaze, etc., but even for a DVD I found the picture-quality made this film difficult to really enjoy. I'm no A/V geek, but on a typical HD TV this DVD is full of obvious video\digital artifacts. If the cover didn't boast "Restored from the original vault elements" I wouldn't bother writing this review. It's certainly better than a bootleg, and I've seen plenty of old DVDs with this kind of PQ, but I've also seen plenty of DVDs of this kind of Euro-sleaze that look A LOT better.
As for the film, not much to add to the other reviews, but better to give it a rental first. I am enough of a fan of this genre that if a decent looking blu-ray ever surfaces, I would gladly give it another watch. But this film really needs a little better presentation to be worth puchasing on it's own, IMO.
I should add that I puchased this as part of the "Eurosleaze" box set when it was on sale for like $13. I haven't watched the other 2 films yet.

4.0 out of 5 stars Rare exploitation flick December 6, 2011
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
This film bored me a little the first time I saw it. However, it was much better with a second viewing. Ann Gisel Glass plays a young woman who visits her alcoholic mother (Karen Schubert who would later star in porn films) and begins to descend deeper and deeper into the world of prostitution and drug addiction. Nearby, in some seedy Amsterdam locations, she encounters assorted drug addicts and prostitutes. The film shows her life fall apart, and the movie usually concentrates on providing a depressing type tone that usually makes the film feel kind of lifeless. The picture begins really quick with an explicit full frontal nude scene with Ann Gisel Glass on a train. This is quickly followed by a sex scene with Karin Schubert that's quickly followed by more full frontal nudity in a shower scene with Ann Glass. However, this sleazy fast-paced start soon slows down. The film then becomes a combination of drama and sleaze, as it switches between sleazy exploitation and sometimes boring drama. I thought the film has some boring indoor dialogue sequences, and it becomes a romantic and boring love story in parts, as it switches between exploitation and a tedious love drama. There's a very brief hardcore scene with a tiny hidden drug canister being quickly pulled from an anal orifice; a lot of full frontal nudity and sex scenes that are sometimes romantic with tender music, while at other times the sex is a little harder; some bits of action, along with very little blood and a low amount of violence; Ann Glass goes insane from drug withdrawal symptoms; and there're some small scenes of intravenous drug usage that aren't for the squeamish and may be for real. 3.0 out of 5 stars Hanna D.: The November 26, 2009
Format:DVD
There's a lot of marvelous, nostalgic full-frontal nudity but Hanna D: The Girl from Vondel Park should've been kept just that: Secret.

The acting is horrible and the story is just not credible in the least. If you're looking for something dark, dreary and full of nonsensical sex, then this is for the person who wants to just burn a fun 88 minutes of their time.
