The HI 9040 is a handheld micro-processor-based thermometer with a sharp stainless steel probe for taking temperature measurements across a wide range.
The meter is housed in a durable casing, and has a smooth keypad that can be cleaned. It features a dual-level LCD screen that simultaneously displays the high and low temperatures of the cycle, and the current temperature. A hold function allows the user to freeze the screen to record results, and the meter self-checks proper functioning and battery life upon startup.
Temperature range is -50.0 to 150 degrees C;-58.0 to 302 degrees F, + or - 0.4 degrees C or 0.8 degrees F. A wide variety of probes can be used with the HI 9043, and it operates on one 9 V battery. Dimensions are 180 x 83 x 40 mm (7.1 x 3.3 x 1.6")/226 g (8.0 oz.).
