Enjoy the music!

There are a few songs that are pretty good, but some of them are too brief so they never really materialize.

Easily my favorite of the soundtrack.

The Chemical Brothers have created perhaps my favorite soundtrack of all time for the movie Hanna, a combination of thumping techno songs in a pure dream state.

HANNA'S THEME
For a song that starts out like a nursery rhyme, angels harmonizing vocally while playing a xylophone, it quickly ends up as psychotic ballerina. Could have easily been used for the weirder scenes of Black Swan. A benign bedtime song for those who have not seen the film, the calm before the storm who have. The storm of a deadly little girl about to seek revenge by leaving corpses in her wake like so much trash.

ESCAPE 700
The first minute builds up like roller coaster excitement from Frankenstein's lab, in preparation of a somewhat repetitious thrill ride for nearly two minutes, until the clink-clank of the coaster's gears allow the front car to peak over the edge of a massive descent into a heart-pumping, energy-draining finish. Odd, however, is the last minute. It's a complete waste of sounds from a SETI experiment.

THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS
The innocent, pleasant beginning, like absorbing the tunes atop a Ferris Wheel at a small town carnival. It brilliantly belies its own cinematic context. Its usage in Hanna is attached to a creepy German guy in a track suit who whistles the tune while either A) thinking of torturing and murdering people, or B) torturing and murdering people. Combine the song with the actions and it morphs into background music to which psychedelic, animatronic characters on Disney World rides randomly snatch children and pull limbs from sockets. To put it another way, this is probably the song Bjork wants played nonstop at her funeral.

Really rockin' soundtrack...bought it as soon as I got home from seeing it the first time.

The one thing that bugged me was that the tracks were out of order to how they were in the movie.

The corrected track order would be:

3, 6, 15, 5, 16, 17, 2, 9, 4, 7, 8, 15, 10, 1, 18, 19, 13, 12, 14, 20, 11

Cheers

I purchased this as a MP3 a few months back, and will get the CD as well. This soundtrack is one of the rare ones that becomes an extension of the film, and the film isn't whole without it. Amazing music, for a amazing film. Buy it!

I ordered the UK import version of the soundtrack several months ago and am very pleased with my purchase. When it was announced that a version of the disc would be released in the US with a bonus track I got very excited. I purchased the newer version this week, and was disappointed to see no bonus track on the package, and no bonus on the disc. Am I missing something? I know that when discs were en vogue that artist would hide tracks on them using such tricks as pausing after the last track and then fast forwarding to access the bonus content. Does anyone have any suggestions or know something that I don't? I give the product three out of five stars based on this misleading information.

Some movies have great soundtracks (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels). Some albums are great but could never fit a movie. This is one of those rarities, a soundtrack that stands on its own as a brilliant album. Even if you don't like electronica, it's hard to argue with great sound, and this album has great sound. There's a lot of variety, and all it's all terrific music.

I have never listened to the Chemical Brothers before this. I'm not a musical snob, but I just don't listen to techno much. That being said, I think about half of the soundtrack is absolutely exceptional and the other half is filler and really doesn't go anywhere. The best tracks are those with dynamics, like "Escape 700" and the two versions of "Hanna's Song" and some others. The rest is ambient sound, which I have no problem with except that it should compliment the film, which I feel it doesn't. A couple of pieces made me think of Brian Eno's "Baby's on Fire." Anyway, I like the cd. I find that I like about 1/2 to 2/3 of the tracks on any cd anyway. I say buy it, if foe "Escape 700" for anything.

So I watched the movie last night and all day today I've had the Hanna's Theme song stuck in my head so I decided to check out the soundtrack. I've been a fan of the Chemical Brothers for many years so when I found out it was their work I decided to buy the album (though not from Amazon). The wikipedia page for the sound track says it was criticized for lack of innovation. Having just finished my first listen of the album I would agree that it does have a bit of a dated sound to it but that is my only complaint, a very good sound track otherwise. That song Hanna's Theme has got to be one of the "catchyest" songs I've ever heard I simply can't stop it from rattling around my brain, I think it could be used for psychological war far.

If you enjoyed this soundtrack check out the Tron Legacy soundtrack done by Daft Punk.

I like some of the tracks. Should have listened to it before I bought it. I was really hoping to get some of the other music in the film, like the gypsies singing in Spain.
