This is a playful story. The problem in this one is Jack Frost is rewriting all the fairy tales with unhappy endings! My daughter loved this. She is in first grade. The problems in these books are not too scary and it is a chapter book. The books all have the same formula. The goblins steal something and the fairy needs help from the girls to get it back and set the world right. This was especially enjoyable because the stories were changing.

it's the same as the rest of them, but if your daughter's name is Hannah, you will buy it too!

HANNAH, THE HAPPY EVER AFTER FAIRY is part of an extensive series of fairy books by Daisy Meadows. A member of the Rainbow Magic collection, HANNAH, THE HAPPY EVER AFTER FAIRY, is a very short, sweet, easy chapter book, perfect for very young readers (and even younger listeners). Young girls in general and my wee one in particular really enjoy the adventures of Hannah and her two human friends, Kirsty and Rachel.

In HANNAH, THE HAPPY EVER AFTER FAIRY something has gone terribly at the book store, where Kirsty and Rachel are reading stories to the younger children. None of the fairytales have happy endings! Cinderella never makes it to the ball, Sleeping Beauty never wakes up, and Rapunzel is trapped in her tower. No one ever meets their prince, and no one lives "happily ever after." As Kirsty and Rachel are trying to discover what is going on, Hannah, the Happy Ever After Fairy appears. She explains that Jack Frost and his goblins have stolen the magic quill pen from the Fairyland Castle. The magic of this special pen can write and alter fairytales in the human world. Kirsty and Rachel are determined to help Hannah set everything right, and the adventures begin.

I purchased this book for my three year old because the fairy in this book has the same name as her older sister. My little one loves hearing about her sister the fairy, and she listens very intently as I read her the story. This beginner chapter book is quite short (about 60 pages) and very fast paced. It keeps her attention from start to finish, and we usually get through it in about 2 nights. The language is simple and direct, making it very easy for youngsters to follow. I can see that when she begins to read on her own in a few years, this book will be an excellent choice for her to start with.
