I recently purchased the Hannah Montana: The Movie game for Nintendo Wii. My daughter is in a dance class where she dances to the song "Hoedown Throwdown" and she loves to sing it as well. I was hoping a portion of this was a singing game, but after I purchased it I discovered it was not. HOWEVER, it is a pretty fun game to play.

The description on the back of the game says the player can "perform" Hannah Montana songs from the movie. Hoedown Throwdown IS one of those songs, but again, you don't sing along with the music. There is a tutorial you can do which I HIGHLY recommend because otherwise you won't know how to do what it is asking during the "performances." Use of a nunchuck is required. I believe this is a one-at-a-time playing game, but I have not tried to do multiple players, so I might not be correct there.

Performances involve a mixture of doing hand motions (lasso, drum, high-five, etc.), hitting poses (one arm up, one down, etc.), shaking the "microphone" along to the beat (and by "microphone" I mean nunchuck), rotating the Wii controller to "play" the piano, and manipulating the nunchuck and Wii controller to pluck strings of a guitar.

There is also a storyline that goes along with the game. You have to move Hannah/Miley around various parts of backstage, her tourbus, and her rural "hometown." Hannah/Miley is given several tasks to do in order to advance the game like talking to various people, finding different items, etc. At one point in the game you try to help her ride a horse and jump over obstacles. There are fun things like being able to "shop" for new clothes and items when you accumulate points and also there is a fair where you can play pop-a-frog where you try to make fake frogs land onto lillypads.

As with other Wii games, portions of the game are "locked' until you have earned them by increased play time. So, my 4-year-old daughter is going to have to wait patiently until I play for who knows how long to get to the Hoedown Throwdown performance she so badly wants to see. The performances require quite a bit of hand-eye coordination that are a little advanced for her at this age. My niece is 9 and I think this would be the perfect game for her.

So was it what I was expecting? No, not really. But is it fun anyway, yes. There is lots of variety between the various games, shopping, performing, and navigating through the storyline. I am not video-game savvy, so my husband was making fun of my lack of understanding of how/where I should direct Hannah/Miley to go, but after 10-15 minutes of experimenting I was doing it pretty easily.

My niece enjoyed playing this game. The controls get a little getting used to, but the game provided hours of play. Clean family fun for the youngsters, and lots of songs for kids to dance to.
I recommend this to any parents and Hannah Montana fans.

Mi hija disfrutó mucho este juego. Las canciones son las originales lo cual le encantó, ya que teníamos duda que no fuese así. Como todo juego tiene su nivel de dificultad al principio pero una vez que se conoce la solución resulta divertido.

Honestly I think this game is stupid.

However, I remember getting a nintendo in 1987 with only one game. Kinda lame.

I bought a wii for my kid sister and since she likes hannah montana it seemed like a good idea because it was cheap. I bought her a wii, 10 games, and a bunch of wii accessories- including this.

Do you know what she plays?! Wii sports and house of the dead (which I got to play with my mother the non-gamer ex-military gun enthusiast).

You wanna bulk up your gift bundle for cheap? Buy this. You want a good game? Buy something else.

got this for our 8 year old grand daughter; she absolutely loves it as do her friends. nuff said?

My 8 and 6 year olds love this game. At first I thought it might be too hard but they are able to read the text and play the game all by themselves.

Very cool game! My 6 year old Hannah fanatic has a blast performing tasks to unlock items,stages & songs to perform! You get to do so many things like just in the movie! Would definently recommend it!

My little sister got this game for her b-day and seems to like it, but it's a little advanced. You see, whenever a concert comes on, it becomes tougher then it's rating(which is E). I would only recommend this game to ages 8+.

We received this game all bent up in the case, and the game was damaged, we weren't able to play it.
