Left it on for almost 2 hours and didn't cover my grays at all!

For some reason the hair didn't look very black after dying.

When I opened the packet of henna, I was immediately impressed by the fresh smell of herbs and the bright green color of the finely sifted powder. I prepared the paste reading the instruction leaflet, applied it on my hair using the gloves and left it on for about 2 hours, covering my head with the shower cap they provided. The first day the color was mild, but over the next few days as I continued applying the hair dye, I was impressed with the rapid, deep black color that my hair took on. I will use it again next week because the leaflet does say that repeated use gives the hair a rich and deep color. I am glad I found this chemical free alternative for hair dyes. Thank you Hannah Natural for introducing such a great product into the market. I won't be using chemical hair dyes or hair products anymore for me and my family!

I was suffering from severe scalp problems for several years. I tried different types of hair products inspired by advertisements. I have seen dermatologists for this problem and they suggested medications which did not help me at all. One of my friends suggested Hannah Natural Black for my gray hair coverage and scalp problem. I bought one packet and used 3 days before. I couldn't believe that it did a wonderful job. I got great relief from my scalp itch. Also my hair is getting darker day by day. Hope my hair will be completely black the more I use it. Really great product

I naturally have dark brown hair and a few grays coming in. I bought this mostly to cover my gray hairs and keep what is close to my natural color but I didn't mind going darker. I was also concerned about the question of risks from other permanent hair dye, especially with darker colors (http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/Risk/hair-dyes).

As the directions say, I mixed this with water only to form a paste, though that got thicker as I was applying it and I added a little more water to it at that point. I applied it immediately and left it on for 3 hours. I only used one of the two included packets on my shoulder-length, straight hair and, though it wasn't really enough, I tried to just make it work anyway. The directions say to rinse with just water, but, I wasn't able to get it all out with just water. I tried rinsing it a second time later but still had some in my hair. I broke down and shampooed it the next day because it was too messy.

It covered almost all of my grey hairs. Some of them were turned black, some were just darkened. There are a few that didn't turn at all. Since the ones that didn't turn are clumped together, I'm pretty sure that I just missed that spot. The color is not a true black, but, it is a shade darker than the brown I started with. I should add that my hair feels more conditioned now (2 days after the treatment) than it did before.

I'm pretty sure this is now going to be what I use from here on out. The price point is great and it did a good job. I also like that the mixture/recipe is already made and I can therefore get predictable results now that I know what to expect. My previous experience with henna products was only with Lush Caca and this did a much better job of covering my grays than the Caca.

Over the years my wife has developed what started as a very mild allergy and evolved into an extreme allergy to all other hair dyes even the ones that claim to be all natural. Hannah is the only one she has ever used that doesn't cause any reaction at all. It truely is the only one on the market that is honestly chemical free and believe me we've tried them all! Thanks Hannah!

This didn't work for me. I have Asian black hair and was hoping to use this to cover my grays. I would recommend collecting a few strands of stray gray hairs and then testing the dye on those before trying on yourself. After three tries (I kept second guessing whether I did it right), I tested my strays and proved it didn't work. I left it in the jar for 24 hrs and it turned the strays from white to light gray. It's not enough to warrant all the trouble of self dying. Maybe I got a defective batch. I don't know. I did google what other people are doing (which were different than the directions in the box) and tried their methods (ie letting the dye sit for a day, etc...) but nothing. I may try this again with a different brand.

Usually I find natural products don't work as well as their unnatural counterparts, so I was skeptical that this would work as well as chemically based hair dye. But after one application my hair is visibly darker and looks like a natural black. I have long hair, so I bought two boxes, like I do with any other hair dye. Dye works differently on various hair, so for comparison: I have naturally straight, brown hair that had been chemically dyed a mahogany brown/red. The red had faded into a medium brown, brassy colour that looked awful and my dark roots were about 3 inches grown out. Most commercial dye takes to virgin hair well, but not hair that has been previously dyed, so I wondered if henna dye would be the same

Each box has two packets of dye mix because you're supposed to apply it twice. I used both packets in the same dye session. It was a little tough to get the consistency right. The instructions say it should be like ketchup, but I had a hard time comparing the two. The first packet I mixed was a little too thick because I had a hard time saturating my hair with it. So I mixed the second packet with more water so that it would drip a little bit, but not too much. I also added salt, since the instructions say a teaspoon of salt (optional) will make it darker. Anyway this was the perfect consistency and it saturated my hair easily. The instructions say to comb it through you're hair, but that sounded like a nightmare so I didn't bother.

After leaving the dye in for 2 hours I rinsed my hair in water, no shampoo. The instructions didn't say this, but I soaked my hair in conditioner. With just water it seemed like it would be a mess to try to comb through later and the dye just wasn't rinsing out fast enough.
