Strong Women in History,
By
This review is from: Hannah Pritchard: Pirate of the Revolution (Historical Fiction Adventures) (Library Binding)
This tale of the life of a spunky, determined girl posing as a boy is filled with adventure on the high seas. It will keep youngsters engaged as they learn about history and of a determined orphan who become a pirate for her country during the Revolutionary War. Young girls will find a strong female character to identify with, as they learn that women made history during the war, as well as, the men. We need more of this type book for young girls. The glossy pages, the real history behind the events section, websites and addition books at the back of the book make this an outstanding book for elementary and middle school libraries and classroom collections, especially for those grades studying the American Revolution.
