Most hero's depicted during war time are men, but in Hanna's War we are reminded that women play(ed) important roles, too. Though this movie is glamorized through costume design and a beautiful actress, the basis of the story is performed solidly.

I had never heard of Hanna Senesh before I see this movie. I was reluctant to rent it but I was not disappointed. Although it could be rated as a "B" movie (budget wise), I could compare it to the very popular "Schindler's List". Very Underrated! How come I have never heard of this film before? I will probably view this movie again.

I just saw this film last night and I was overwhelmed. Hanna was an extremely strong and brave woman. Her story and the story of her fellow paratroopers will touch your heart. It really shows how dedicated the early Jewish settlers of Palestine really where. I will definitely watch this one again and again.

This film should have made Detmers a star after her role in "Devil in the Flesh"....It is a superior film based on a true story about a hero whose values were stronger than her own survival...It is a film all should see for the history and most of all for Detmers...a talent who Hollywood did not know what to do with, but lucky for us had two films that showed us her talents.

I think this lady should be taught in schools, she is an important part of history and humanity that is being excluded as unimportant.The world would be a far better place if we had more women with a love this deep. I feel it would be an honor to die by her side rather than live in safety with those that killed her.

This movie lacks the sophistication of the Hollywood blockbusters. However, the message, the script and the acting are so powerful you won't notice after the first 20 minutes.

I have had this movie for about 14 years now and it is one of my Favorite World War 2 stories. The Woman has great courge and understands what she can do to help other people. Watch it and be Prepared for Violence scenes. I do not Recommended this movie for children under 16.

Other reviews have covered the story - based on true events - quite well. I thought the film was too long, more editing would have helped greatly. Also, as happens often in war movies, westerns - the actors do not look like they would in such conditions. The Hanna character looks like a NY model, she's beaten half to death, then suddenly she's back to looking like a NY model again, inexplicably. It's almost as if the director thought the final scene required the image of a beautiful woman being executed, as opposed to an ordinary person, to have an impact on the audience.

I do like the film, evertything for me a true story..I hope the producer make this into a DVD so really it can be a collectors item like what they did to other films such as delta force, evil dead and other films in which they converted into a home theater movie. Please whoever read these comment try to convince the producer to make this film into DVD format. Thank you.

I watched this movie soon after it came out on VHS. This is one of only a handful of movies that has had a life long impact on me. I was sobbing at the end of the movie. It believe it is important for all of us to hear the stories of those who have given up everything for freedom. The story of Hanna and all that she endured is very moving and a reminder to be grateful for all that we have.
