Paid 2.99. Same price buys you twice as much in stores. Otherwise the product is very good.

This is truly the only thing I carry into nature that's not camo or dark green or black.
I prefer a campsite that blends in and could be missed from 50 feet away if one wasn't looking for it. That said...for emergency purposes...there is a need for something that's bright and a color that's "not of nature". It's small and easy to pack...and there's enough on this roll to leave markings for miles and miles of travel. Since it's a lightweight tape - almost any small breeze moves it - to draw the eye of anyone that may be looking for you. The tape doesn't tear that easily either...so it's going to stay on that branch, limb, rock, etc...that you tie it onto for a long, long time. I tied a piece on a tree in my backyard, in the sun, and found little to no sun fading over a 3 week time period.

Pink, not orange in color,

I own a few of these and I like them. They tear easily and evenly. They hold sharpie writing well and it doesn't smear. Whether the rolls I received are pink due to design, receiving the wrong model #, or age they are more like normal trail tags than orange "rescue" tape. They do their intended purpose just fine regardless of color, however. I just prefer to use orange tape for rescue purposes because pink is so common for trail marking and group travel. If/when I run out of these rolls I will buy again.
