These cards are very beautiful and can tell you the story of the card just by looking at them. ... The book is not a guide or learning tool for tarot. It only gives you a brief history of tarot and gives you and describtion and explanation of the cards which comes with the cards in a little book. If you buy the cards it comes with a little book that tells you everything the big book tells you. If you want to learn how to read tarot cards, don't buy this book, but if you want beautiful and easy to remeber cards, this is the way to go!

This set of cards and the accompanying book makes dealing with the tarot easy. The cards are beautiful with plenty of detail to catch the viewers eyes. The book does not talk over your head or under your head. It is especially useful for a new tarot user. Before describing the the divinatory meaning it gives detailed descriptions of the cards. The book also gives a basic outline of the Major Arcena for quick reference. The set also includes a Celtic Cross layout spread sheet for card readings which I found useful in the beginning. This is definately my favorite deck and the brightness of it calls to me.

I have had my Hanson-Roberts deck for at least 12 years now, and I still use it quite frequently. When I bought it, I knew little or nothing about the Tarot, and chose it simply because I liked the illustrations; they have a 'Renaissance' feel to them, and the clear, harmonious colors are lovely. Unless they've changed, the cards are also on the small side, making them easy to shuffle and handle for those of us with smallish or clumsy (or both!) hands. The imagery is strongly based on the Rider-Waite deck, but the illustrations have a charm all their own. A very pretty, appealing deck overall; I would definitely recommend this one for beginners as well as old-timers.

This is a beautiful, easy to interpret deck that I would really reccomend for beginners. The artwork is very expressive, it really speaks to the reader. Although it has been criticized for being too much like the Ryder-Waite deck in symbolism, I believe the artwork in the Hanson-Roberts deck makes the images come alive.

A very easy to understand book~ great for beginners, and well versed, alike! I enjoyed this book, and learned a great deal from it. The matching Tarot cards are beautiful, and easy to "feel" and read accurately. A wonderful start to new beginnings!! ~~Blessed Be~~~

This is just a beautiful deck of cards.

What I really like most about this deck is that all of the symbolism is included in each card, which is wonderful for beginners and also useful for the experienced.

The book is useful, as it shows several card spreads, and makes few mistakes in interpretation, although it is fairly basic. I also like the section at the end that talks about card-combination.

This is a perfect set for anyone who wants to begin to learn about Tarot, but it's also a very friendly deck, in feel and appearance, with the non-directional backing that, to me, is very important.

While it's a lovely deck and book for the beginner, it never wears out it's welcome, since the symbolism used on the cards is very traditional. I have several decks, but this is my favorite.

I've been reading cards for nearly 4 years. I started out with rider/waite and have purchased a couple different decks. My daughter purchased this set for me in a "Tarot-to- go" pack (smaller version of cards). I fell in love with them right away and ordered this set. They are very easy to handle and the pictures on them, front are beautifully depicted. The images are so soft and sweet. They also stay very true to the symbolism of the rider/waite.

~I have already done a couple of readings with them and couldn't like them any more than I already do!

The cards and book are loaded with color and life and emotional expression and the meanings given aren't overally burdensome and avoid negative readings and avoid new agee caltrop. A good deck overall.

I have been a student of Tarot for 20 years, with on and off degrees of absorption in it, and I have come across this deck numerous times. But each time I barely glanced at it, dismissing it as sugary and cute. That's all I heard from reviews and the like. Word of warning, decide for yourself!

Just months ago I took the plunge and bought this luminous deck. And opening it up and slowly going through the cards was such an amazing discovery. Why this deck isn't all sugar-coated and "cute". Each card is artistically redone in a passionate and evocative manner. And stays true to the meaning and RWS. This is a deck that is deceptive. It may be talked about as if it shallow and full of cherub children, which is isn't, but in reality it is a deck with a lot of power to be heard in a loud and clear voice. It reads like a dream. The pictures are incredibly intuitive. The art is breathtaking, the shading is just gorgeous. You can spend many hours looking at all the little details.

The size are just perfect as well! Nothing worse IMO that a huge bulky, hard to shuffle deck. It interferes with my ability to connect and bond with a deck. The Hanson-Roberts is just perfect. Also there is an even smaller version available (which I have).

If you're looking for a more visually stunning and intuitive Tarot deck that is completely RWS based....look no further than this faerie enchanted mystical creation, you won't be disappointed!

*The book that accompanies this deck here is a great companion book! She desribes each card very well and all the symbols. I found her insights and possible interpertations very well thought out and in-depth. I really loved her take on the cards and the Hanson-Roberts deck itself. You can't go wrong with this set! She also has some wonderful spreads and reading ideas in the back of the book.....I still use the Tea Room Reading all these years later : )
