Many Hindus worship Hanuman, who is know for his strength and devotion to Lord Rama, as told in the Ramayana. My family and I watched the English audio version of this cartoon and enjoyed it very much. The quality is very good, by Indian standards.

Adults will enjoy watching this, as well as kids (it's the favorite of my 6-year-old grand-daughter). I hope they make more cartoons featuring other Hindu gods.

Over all this is a great product.

It is among the first in this category I have seen in the market and It has been a great hit. It has a couple of problems. The DVD I bought has only one language Hindi (with subtitles) if you/your kids don't understand hindi good luck. Second it portrays all bad people with dark skin and all super human characters as white. It is very sad stereo typing. Even though majority of India is not very fair.

On the positive side the story line covers a lot of the same Hanuman stories I have grown up hearing. It also does not have too many hollowood style extensions or dramatization which is a great plus.

This movie is an instant classic. A delightfully-animated adventure takes you through the basics of Hinduism's great Ramayana. Delightful music and audio make the movie come alive. There is some fair amount of warlike violence in the movie, as per the Ramayana, so keep that in mind if you have a sensitive child. This movie is not only for children, however, because it will make any adult feel the joy of Hanuman's childhood and adventures.

So much work is put into this, but the effort did not pay off. There are other similar animated programs from Hindu epics and mythology that have been done extremely well. But in spite of the great colors and selection of some of the best stories, the spirit is missing here. May be there was no need to cram in this many details. Some of the curious information, like the way Hanuman's son was born, are adjusted to the child viewers' understanding.

Nevertheless, the colors are wonderful. Over 20 colors have been used on each character and 20000 individual images were created during the animated process. Artists worked hard for two years to bring this program.
