Hanuman is one of the most complete figures of saintliness in the literature of Hinduism. While his life was one of total surrender to the will of God, he did not withdraw from active life in the world. He is an outstanding example of the spiritual life in action. This work discusses the circumstances of his encounter with Rama, his recognition of the divintiy of Rama, his response to Rama as God, and Rama's reaction to him It also analyzes his qualities as a minster of Sugriva, his relationship with Sita and his encounter with Ravana.
