I accidentally found Rodrigo and Gabriella during an Amazon promotion a year ago. Their previous 2 albums quickly rose to the top of my most-played list in iTunes. The unique sound emanating from their guitars is captivating. Rodrigo & Gabriela are my ubiquitous study music. Purely instrumental, it is hard to believe that the sound including percussion comes from only two guitars.

As I study (particularly during reading), I can usually only listen to an album so many times before I tire of the sound and begin to get annoyed. Rodrigo and Gabriela are unique in that I have never had that experience with them. It is perfect background music, and yet at the same time, I can attentatively listen to the whole album straight through and thoroughly enjoy the experience.

The new album 11:11 looks like Rodrigo & Gabriela have gone 3 for 3. Not only is the album super inexpensive, they've thrown a DVD in this one, so I recommend going for the physical purchase instead of the mp3 download and get the DVD, which shows just how much energy this duo has as they play. It'll make you appreciate the music that much more.

This track Hanuman is an excellent example of their style of music.

I am going to listen to more Rodrigo y Gabriela. Giving away this track is generous, but I can see myself buying much of their music. This is really a neat song and I am also amazed that it is two guitars.

I downloaded this song since it was free. Hey, why not? Let me tell you, one listen and you'll be hooked to the sound. I bought the entire album minutes after downloading Hanuman. Rodrigo y Gabriela have a sound that brings life to your stereo. The entire album, from beginning to end, deserves heavy rotation in your collection.

Days after I began playing the album on a loop I heard Rodrigo y Gabriela's unique sound while watching Monday Night Football. Apparently it was "Latin American Culture Week" or something to that effect in the NFL and this album, 11:11, was the featured sound between commercial breaks and during time outs. Gotta hand it to the NFL and RyG's agent/label for some creative marketing!

In short, grab this song for free and if you like it go for the entire album. You won't be sorry!
