I got these for my 20month old toddler for easter, and he's not very interested in them yet. I wanted them because they each show a different emotion, and kids can be confused by their emotions, so this is away of bringing up the subject. Also, it was easter. The eggs are solid wood, and nice quality. They come with little rubbery rings so you can stand each egg up in one. These get lost really easily, and I wish there was an egg carton instead. I actually cut an egg carton down for this purpose. Hopefully someday he'll be interested.

The storybook that came with the eggs is bizarre though. It's like they were trying to cram as many extreme emotions in as possible ,and didn't want to pay for the extra pages that would allow for some ttransition between them. There isn't much of a story even.

UPDATE: Now that they are in a carton, he loves them. He enjoys putting them in and taking them out. The rubber ring stands that came with them are now primarily used to make squeaky noises on the hardwood floor. At least they're good for something!

How has this toy NOT been reviewed yet?

OMG My 18 month old adores it! Very open ended play. The rubber bits are a tad small for her so I put those away for now!

Great way to teach feelings, colors, action/reaction, sequence, and more!

It comes with a book to read along with to make it more of a game and to get parents involved!

BUY THIS!

Aside from the education aspects....you are getting 6 high quality WOOD eggs! They are true to life and work well in play kitchens! BONUS!

with special needs to help regulate and learn emotions. It's hard sometimes for kiddos with special needs to learn the wide range of emotions.

The book and story, and then creating our own stories to go with the faces has been a great therapy tool for children ages 3-7 with emotional behavior disorders. I use it to help them recognize feelings and feeling faces. They eggs are a soothing shape for the children to hold. Durable quality.

The kids love these cute little eggs and the story that goes along with it. They can play with the eggs separately as well. The book tells a story using each emotion (Happy, Excited, Sad, Angry, Shy, Afraid) and the kids find the egg with that emotion (and I also have them make the same face). The bases are a soft rubbery material and the eggs are very durable wood. The book is a thick board book, so it should hold up well to preschool use.
