It Happened in Georgia by James A. Crutchfield is a short history book, three to five pages per story, that talks about different interesting facts that have occurred in the State of Georgia. His stories range from a tale of the Ocmulgee tribe to the tragic bombing in Atlanta during the 1996 Summer Olympics. Each tale is well told - so much so that it made this reader want to search out more information on several of the articles talked about in the book. The historical setting jumps out at the reader and the historical figures and places discussed are painted vividly on the mind's eye. This book is definitely a must read for anyone interested in Georgia history.

Truly interesting and informative. Typical of Jim Crutchfield's work. He has long been noted for his historical writing and he really makes his stories come alive.
