a MUST read, February 23, 2006
The book,It Happened To Nancy, by an anonomous teenager is one of the best books i've ever read! It keeps you interested throughout the entire thing. First it starts off happy and then there is a turning point in the book. It is a true story from the diary of Nancy. It is about a 14 year old girl named Nancy who falls in love for the first time with a college student who she had met at a concert. He had helped her out when she had fallen in the middle of a fight and then had an asthma attack. She couldnt find the people who she was with and then, Collin appeared out of no where and was there to help her. The two of them became friends and Nancy fell in lone with him. She trusted him completely and then, it didnt take long for him to date-rape her. She didnt let anyone know about this and her mother didnt find out until Nancy started feeling sick and had to go to the doctor. She felt as if it were completely her fault that this happened to her. Collin had left her infected with the H.I.V virus. This book was the first book that ever made me cry. I gave it five stars because i have never read anything like it before. It is a book that keeps your interest throughout and not ever wanting it to end! It is also very informational about aids. Nancy decided to make all of her personal diary entries public and it is a book that keeps you aware of what can happen to anyone in life. I love how Nancy wrote her diary, it is like it was meant to be a book. On page 213 of the book, Nancy says, "i can't believe that the lady was Dr. B., who put together one of my favorite books, Go Ask Alice, from the diary of a girl my age who had gotten into drugs. So, the same woman who is helping put together Nancys diary to make it a book, helped another girl with her personal story on drugs. I think that it is a very nice thing to do and books like these can help to save lives. Another reason why i gave this book 5 stars is because while reading the story, i felt like i was the diary and like Nancy was actually writing to me. This was just the most magnificent book i have ever read, and i recommend it to everyone who will take it seriously. I also think that it is an important read for teenagers. I encourage you to read it!!!

Nancy was a happy, cheerful young woman who didn't deserve to get AIDS. I've read this book over and over again for 3 years. It didn't really effect my heart until I read it again this week. I cried over and over again, just as well as many others, I'm sure. This book is not only devestatingly depressing and sad. It's VERY educational, and it hits "home" for some girls who either have AIDS or have been raped. The words of Nancy were beautiful and I ended up loving her SO much. I never had the priveledge to know Nancy, but I sure wish I had. I know I would've gotten along with her and loved her so. I deeply encourage teenage girls to read this book, as well as the very back of the book, where Nancy wanted those questions put. It's a beautiful book and EVERY SINGLE teen-age girl should read it, whether they have AIDS of have been raped or not. I'm so glad I read that book. I've learned to love Nancy for all that she has accomplished and every bit of information in that book. I've also learned to love the wonderful people in her life, like her parents and her doctor, Dr. Sheranian. God bless Nancy.

It Happened to Nancy, Is about a young girl who was raped and got AIDS from a a young boy named Collin. I decided to read this book for one of my summer reading projects and I feel in love with it. Nancy's diary was overwhelming. While she told you her story, she also taught me about date rape and AIDS. This has definately been one of the best books I have ever read!
