Marthe Jocelyn's HOW IT HAPPENED IN PEACH HILL tells of a mother and daughter who come to Peach Hill where Annie's mother sets herself up, once again, as the spiritualist advisor Madame Caterina, an endeavor supported by her daughter, who pretends to be an idiot to help gain information about clients. But Annie's tired of her role and she wants a real life with friends and school: Peach Hill seems the place she might be able to break free of her deceptions and a mother who wants her to constantly lie. A moving story of freedom evolves.

This is a great book. Its about this girl who's mom is a "fake" fortune teller. Their life has been spent moving to different towns trying con people out of their money. Its funny, entertaining, and you are always looking forward to the next chapter.
