This review is from: What Happens at a Recycling Center? (Where People Work) (Paperback)
Amazon shows a printing date of 2006, the book shows a 2007 copyright...but the info and pictures seem older, maybe early 2000's? Why this matters: most areas of the country now have curbside recycling OR municipal drop off centers. This book pictures a family taking their cans to the sort of small business that might pay for the aluminum. So if you want to know how a modern recycling sorting center works, this won't tell you. It doesn't show anything but how cans get weighed, crushed and put in a bale. End of story. It doesn't even cover what hapens next - how the cans actually get recycled into new cans. It never mentions plastic, glass, paper or other metals. Actually, it doesn't even realy explain what recycling is. I don't think this would teach a preschooler anything.
