The motivational speaker that he really should acknowledge is P.T. Barnum: I feel like a total sucker for buying it.
I really like Jim's book, Shift Happens, because it flows so naturally right out of his own personality and life experience. He really is incredibly optimistic about how we can bring growth and change to our lives even when faced with life's most difficult challenges because he has in fact faced and overcome those challenges himself. Whether you are looking for a full fledged guide or just some pointers, Shift Happens is full of authenticity, practical advice, deep wisdom, and the kind of good natured humor we all need when traveling down the sometimes bumpy road of life. I heartily and warmly recommend it.
