5.0 out of 5 stars The best of all, January 31, 2002
This review is from: Happiness [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The story of Khmyr, the lazy kholkozian, and his horse-wife, his cupid neighbour Foka and even the pope and 2 or 3 tramps. Medvedkin draw a colmplete landscape of the russian society in the 20's: nothing has changed, people are still poor materialist animals.
More politicaly oriented than charles chaplin's movies,
the happiness is a true communist movie against the carpets sellers regime (before)and against Stalin's regime (after) (the quizzical imitation of 20's propaganda movie is marvellous).

A must see...Cinema as it should be.
